Like a ripened fruit, Earth's broadcast signals attract a visitor.

The themes in Earth Is Ripe are familiar ones in my work - the absence of work and purpose in consumer society, the pickling of humanity through media saturation.

The story originated as a comic sketch of 8 or so drawings, all of which were scanned and incorporated in the imagery here. This is my first attempt at an animated film, using primarily motion graphics techniques.

The work was shown publicly at the Portland Indy Animation Festival, curated by artist Petr Sorfa. Shown here in its entirety.
